BIOMECHANICS Online Mini Course
This mini course is a 30 hours course and represents an introduction to our main course that is developed in our residential summer program (about 180 hours).
It can be an entry level for those who want to start thinking to a serious orthodontic biomechanics knowledge and also a first preparation to our main course.
The possibility of remote lecturing, makes attending this kind of course much cheaper and defenetively possible for many doctors that for different reasons cannot afford to participate to our residential program.
At this time (Dec. 20th 2016) we have limited spaces available: our allowance is limited, and since 75% of the participants to module 1 have confirmed their participation to the following modules, we can assign only about 15 places on a total of 60.
Module 1: Biomechanics Fundamentals
This module will teach to the participants general mechanics principles and the mechanics background to understand the relation between the force system and the dental movement.
The 2 sessions of Module 1 have already taken place and were recorded. They are available to participants who have registered for the whole course.
Module 2 Anchorage and Cantilevers
(3 sessions - 4 hours each)
March 28, 2017 - April 11, 2017 - May 3, 2017
In this module we will discuss about anchorage issues and statically determinate mechanics (cantilevers and other systems) to be used for individual and group movements. These will include for example molar uprighting, front teeth intrusion, dental rotations and many other movements.
Module 3 Statically indeterminate systems and Alignment
(3 sessions - 4 hours each)
September 5, 2017 - September 19, 2017 - October 10, 2017
In this module we will discuss about statically indeterminate mechanics and dental alignment.
Topics will be the understanding of continuous archwire mechanics, use of activated segments, alfa beta springs and alignment loops.
This program will be completed by 2 exercise review sessions of one hour that will follow some of the lectures.
Registration fee includes also a base contract to access the multimedia textbook Biomechanics in Orthodontics.
Course Fees
Base Fee: CHF 1250
Doctors who have purchased the Biomechanics textbook base contract : CHF 1000
Doctors who have already attended our summer school or are already
registered for next summer edition: CHF 800
